Explore the stunning mixed-use hotel and residential tower Stella at Star Metals in Atlanta. And finally, RDC–Studio One Eleven Workplace and Urban Lab is a former department store in Long Beach California transformed into an office and community hub.


Episode 2 - Watch Now
America ByDESIGN™ episode 2 begins in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with Frost Terrace, a 100% affordable community that expertly merges historic preservation with new, contemporary architecture. Then, in Cleveland, Ohio, we showcase Ghost House & Fox Residence, an asymmetrical home with an innovative design for contemporary city living. Next, the 8VC Headquarters in Austin, Texas have transformed a 100-year-old bungalow into a luxurious office. We then feature the serene hilltop headquarters of The Herzog Foundation in Smithville, Missouri, defined by unique materials with a nod to its origins. Finally, The Seattle Academy of Arts & Sciences Middle School demonstrates how the design of an urban campus seeks to maximize a compact space and connect with the surrounding community.

America ByDESIGN™ episode 3 explores the power of adaptive reuse, beginning in St. Louis, Missouri, where a derelict industrial foundry is transformed into a dynamic mixed-use destination. Then, a forward-thinking Student Center at The Perkiomen School by Flansburgh Architects - designed to be the physical heart of an independent school in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. Next, discover The Rambler on the Kitsap Peninsula, Washington, a unique residence deeply connected to its forest landscape through craft and material. In Boulder Creek, California, a beloved community library undergoes a sensitive renovation. Finally, we showcase the conversion of a mid-century office block into affordable live-work housing for artists with the Santa Ana Arts Collective in California.

America ByDESIGN™ episode 4 begins in Big Sky, Montana, with Cowboy Heaven, a luxury mountain retreat blending rugged Western materials with contemporary architecture. Then, we explore a purpose-built performance space in Memphis, Tennessee - Collage Dance. Next, innovative design creates a secluded sanctuary for literature and nature with the Writer's Studio in Connecticut. In Douglasville, Georgia, the Douglas County High School Sports Complex, known as “The Claw,” transforms a historic site with forward-thinking design. Finally, we showcase Mary’s Place Family Center in Seattle, an eight-story vertical community redefining how architecture can address homelessness with dignity and scale.

America ByDESIGN™ Episode 5 begins with Charles River Speedway in Brighton, Massachusetts, an 1899 racing stable reborn as a vibrant community courtyard. Then, we explore how the Asteria Theater at Colorado Mesa University is setting a new regional standard for sustainability and technical excellence. In St Louis, Missouri, the Armstrong Residence pushes the boundaries of a 1940s ranch with bold, origami-inspired folded geometries. Next, the Tree Lofts in Tennessee showcase inspired design immersed in nature. Finally, in Berkeley, The Hope Center & Berkeley Way demonstrates architectural compassion through creating a dignified "Continuum of Housing" for its community.

America ByDESIGN™ Episode 6 begins with Sedgwick Hall at Rockhurst University, a 1914 structure reborn. Then, the Pleasant Plains wareHOUSE + Studio in Washington D.C. showcases a fossil-fuel-free transformation of a vacant warehouse into a modern family home and studio. Next, The Wabi Sabi House: a Japanese-inspired residence that celebrates beauty in imperfection. In Ohio, we showcase a nautical-inspired floating clubhouse - the Perrysburg Boat Club. Finally, Seattle’s Heartwood demonstrates a carbon-negative future with an innovative eight-story mass timber building.

America ByDESIGN™ Episode 7 begins with Tarry House in Blanco, Texas, a ranch-inspired Hill Country haven. Then, we visit a world-class acoustic sanctuary - Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. In Hubbard, Ohio, the St. Pat’s Church Restoration showcases a community’s resilience through a masterful preservation of a landmark. Next, the Park Home in Ravenna in Seattle, Washington, reimagines the traditional gablescape drawing inspiration from its built environment. Finally, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Central Pacific Plaza transforms a flagship bank branch into a vibrant community hub.

America ByDESIGN™ Episode 8 begins with a biophilic inspired expansion of the Portland International Airport in Oregon. Then, Courtyard Nine in Cincinnati, Ohio utilizes thoughtful design to maximize natural light and privacy for its owners. In Cambridge, Massachusetts, Rivermark showcases a bold refurbishment of a 1970s Brutalist residential complex. Next, the Center for Missouri Studies in Columbia, Missouri, integrates campus and city life within a limestone-clad library. Finally, the Winthrop Library in Washington stands as a community-driven civic hub inspired by the region's traditional agrarian hay barns.
