Adriana Perez-Leyva, AIA
Architect & BIM Manager at David Corban Architects
Adriana Perez-Leyva is a Project Architect and BIM Manager at David Corban Architects in Naples, Florida, and holds a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Now in her sixth year of practice, her portfolio has grown to include projects in hospitality, commercial, and education. After a long road of studying and juggling a number of life’s challenges, she earned her architecture license in 2023. This achievement means that Adriana can count herself among the cohort of licensed latina architects in the United States, which currently represent only about 2% of the profession. Soon thereafter, she joined the Board of Directors at her local American Institute of Architects chapter to guide fellow design professionals on their journey through licensure. Adriana also volunteers at Champions for Learning sharing her insights with high school students interested in a career in architecture, construction, and the allied arts. She has been competitively selected for several awards and leadership development opportunities, including Commencement Speaker at the University of Florida, the HKS Southeast Design Fellowship, and the Associate Leadership Collier program. From a young age, Adriana’s love for architecture was evident in the ever-growing stack of design magazines in her bedroom and the marathons of Travel Channel shows that transported her to beautiful, faraway architectural wonders. Adriana is thrilled to be part of the ByDesign cast where she can experience amazing buildings around the country, meet the design teams of the projects, and communicate to the general public the value of great architecture.
