Ma Ry Kim is the Founder of the I-ON Group, a multi award-winning Architect, Brand Strategist, Town Planner, Professor, and energetic mother of 5 amazing human beings. She was previously a Principal and Regional Design Leader for the European and Middle Eastern offices of Gensler, the world’s largest architecture firm. She is also a Principal and shareholder of G70, one of Hawai’i’s largest design firm. An entrepreneur who has launched several revolutionary companies, Ma Ry also co-founded the Brain Health Applied Research Institute (B-HARI) in 2019 with a team of expert Neurologists and Earth scientists in response to the urgent need to apply scientific data to built environments that serve those affected by life-long brain injury, trauma, dementia, and neurodiversity.

Ma Ry was born in Korea, raised in Hawai’i, and worked and lived in Europe as an architect for nearly two decades. She graduated in architecture at the University of Southern California, trained in France, and qualified as an Architect at the prestigious Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

Ma Ry has since practiced as a design professional and a developer for the last 25 years between Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the US. Having worked as a thought partner to some of the world’s most innovative companies such as Apple and Google, Ma Ry THINKS DIFFERENTLY. A widely published writer, speaker, and Professor, Ma Ry is focused on stepping outside her own discipline to constantly learn and apply critical knowledge from other expertise to built environments that enable people to thrive and preserve our fading natural resources amidst a transforming world.
