Upper House

Upper House is a dynamic, high-rise that contributes to Brisbane’s skyline in a way that honours and showcases the distinctive beauty of Australia’s third largest city.
It delivers 188 apartments and signals a new era in urban design, where connection to nature, resident wellbeing and environmental sustainability align.
Visually, ‘architectural roots’, inspired by the native Moreton Bay Fig tree, journey from Australia’s ancient past at its base – in the form of a five-storey indigenous artwork – up to the future of vertical living, where wellness and nature redefine high-rise living.
The building is “designed to breath” in response to the subtropical Queensland climate, offering over 1,000m2 of premium resident amenities and delivering an enviable lifestyle through quality design, the inclusion of nature and a focus on holistic wellness. In effect, addressing many of the issues faced in high-density urban neighbourhoods.
The architecture punctuates the city skyline with a natural timber pergola and a tropical rooftop oasis that stands above surrounding buildings. Here at the building’s top, 3,544 tropical plants insulate the building and protect against western heat gain, and offer a lush, nature-led landscape for the resident pool and outdoor leisure facilities.
A five-storey indigenous artwork, ‘Bloodlines weaving string and water’ by Judy Watson, at the building’s podium contributes a valuable narrative to the urban landscape, showing respect for and creating a dialogue around Australia's first nations people, while obscuring the building’s 242 bicycle parking spaces, 272 car parking spaces, of which 60 are equipped with, and 100% are ready for EV charging.
We see Upper House as a prominent declaration of progress. A chance to encourage dialogue about the past and to reflect on the present. Our belief is that respect – for people and planet – should be the building blocks of our future.
