The NextSense centre for innovation represents a new era for hearing and vision loss in Australia.

Custom-designed for people with hearing and vision loss, the centre is a place to nurture, trial and share new ideas to drive better outcomes for people with hearing and vision loss.

A state-of-the-art, nationally and internationally significant piece of social infrastructure, it houses NextSense national operations and is a major centre for delivering hearing and vision loss health and disability services, education, and research.

Importantly, it is a focal point for NextSense to connect the rich expertise it holds across its 18 sites, its remote services, and its research and education programs with what it learns from others to build insights that drive change. And it represents the next chapter for NextSense, which is Australia's second oldest not-for-profit organisation and has been delivering services continuously since 1860.

A place for collaboration with colleagues across Macquarie University campus and beyond, the new centre will leverage the bench strength across multiple fields: service delivery, research, health, disability, education, government, and industry.

The powerful new research and practice partnerships that will be formed there will help cement Australia as a world leader in hearing and vision loss and help build a more inclusive society. It will be a drawcard for leading thinkers and practitioners and demonstrate what best practice inclusive education for people with sensory disability could look like in the future.
