Founder & Principal, Thomas Juul-Hansen, llc

Thomas Juul-Hansen was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. He received his bachelor of architecture from University of Miami and a master of architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. After working at Richard Meier and Partners Architects in New York, he founded Thomas Juul-Hansen, llc in 2003.

Since its foundation in 2003, Thomas Juul-Hansen, llc has developed a diverse body of design work including residential, hospitality, retail and interiors. With each project, the firm explores unique and innovative formal solutions to provoke a notion of timeless manifesto through thoughtful investigations of contextual sensitivity, materiality and customization. Fundamental to this pursuit is the belief that quality of design is a progressive process informed by the forces of site and circumstance, culture and climate, program and function. Extending this approach with the seamless relationship of light and space, Thomas Juul-Hansen, llc is recognized for the commitment to coherent individualized design solutions.

Several ongoing current and completed projects include 505 W 19 on the Chelsea High Line; Project Falcon in London; Two Ten West 77 in Upper Manhattan; 300 Collins in South Beach; 50 West in Lower Manhattan; and One57 in Midtown West. Additionally, the firm has designed a number of private residential commissions for clients including chef Jean Georges Vongerichten, jeweler David Yurman, branding guru David Lipman, entrepreneur Damon Dash, telecommunications mogul Michael Hirtenstein, and film executive Paula Wagner.

Thomas Juul-Hansen, llc has collaborated with New York City developers Extell, HFZ, Naftali Group, Alf Naman, Stanley Perelman, Time Equities/Francis Greenburger and works closely with marketing groups Corcoran Sunshine, Douglas Elliman, and Town.
