Martin Broen

Pepsico VP Design Innovation and Product Design

Martin brings his passion for Design driven Innovation to the PepsiCo NY Design Center serving as the Vice President of Global Design Innovation, Product Design and Design for Sustainability. He is responsible for defining design and innovation strategies for innovative products, services and business models, sustainability, structural packaging, and equipment. He works in close collaboration with the cross-functional leaders to evolve a design-led, consumer-centric approach while also fostering an innovation centric culture with his teams.

His passion is to find innovative solutions to solve system level problems, has hundreds of products in market in various fields, holds over 120 innovation patents, more than 200 international design awards and is an awarded Nature and Underwater photographer.

Before joining PepsiCo in February 2013, Martin led Seventh Sense, an Italian based design and innovation consultancy firm where he successfully led more than 100 projects for various international companies such as 3M LED Advanced Light and Multi-touch, Ennera Wind Turbines, Scotch dispensers, Sitag furniture systems, Post-it emotional dispensers, Filtrete filtration pitchers, Scotch-Brite cleaning tools, Electric bikes and many others.

Additionally, Martin worked at the Design Continuum Milan in developing strategy, product development and brand communication. He also served as a Teacher and Lecturer of Product Design, Design Thinking and Rapid Prototyping at Istituto Europeo di Design (Milan), Northwestern University, and National Center of Technical Education of Argentina.

His successfully developed solutions and created meaningful experiences for top companies in various industries such as Luxottica, AEG, Motorola, HP, Koziol, Allsteel, Electrolux; bringing hundreds of innovations to market.

Hold degrees in Innovation from MIT; Executive Master in Business Administration, Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and a Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina); as well as a technical background.
