The Gathering House at Reynolds Lake Oconee

Set within the heavily forested landscape of Reynolds Lake Oconee, The Gathering House is a lounge and multi-use event space designed by BLUR Workshop for residents and guests of The Homesteads community.

The site's existing granite boulders became fundamental to the architecture, with the building carefully positioned between them rather than imposed upon the landscape. Heavy timber, glass and natural stone establish a strong material connection to the setting, while transparency between interior spaces maintains views and encourages movement between the building and its surroundings.

The result is an award-winning gathering place where architecture, landscape and community are deliberately intertwined.
