Rutgers University: School of Nursing & Science Building

This new, award-winning, state-of-the-art building houses a mix of nursing and health science instructional space.
This allows the seamless blending of all facets of nursing and heath science education — from biology to clinical simulation experiences. Within the building there is a full variety of formal learning spaces, including learning studios, class labs, and seminar rooms. A robust skills and simulation center provides an array of flexible clinical teaching spaces, including standardized patient observation rooms, surgical suites, and home-care settings. These are complemented by places for quiet and small group study, as well as large spaces for gatherings. A combination of open stairs and two-story volumes reinforce the visual and physical connections within the building, with the design revealing Rutgers vitality and promoting connections with the wider Camden community.
