MOTOROiD + MOTOBOT
A new user experience beyond the boundaries of human and machine.
Thanks to next-generation technologies, a motorcycle that can communicate with its rider almost like a living creature has finally appeared. MOTOROiD has the potential to make an array of all-new user experiences possible, like approaching when beckoned with a gesture or sensing the rider’s movements and offering steering support accordingly. When there is mutual understanding and communication between a rider and the machine, the machine transforms from an object into a partner. MOTOROiD has been wholly designed to create that kind of relationship, in not only its colors and shapes but also its functions and movements.
By using MOTOBOT technologies to optimize control of vehicle dynamics, we will develop higher performing and safer forms of mobility.
What makes the MOTOBOT project unique is its approach to completely automated operation. Unlike the current methods used for automobile self-driving systems, which have progressed in recent years, the aim is for a humanoid robot to operate a vehicle unmodified for autonomous use. From this project, we will be able to visualize data about human motorcycle operation, deduce the relationship between rider input and machine behavior, and then use the resulting know-how in developing vehicles for creating even greater Kando.
