The EVE Hotel Sydney

The EVE Hotel is where Sydney design, culture, and hospitality converge.
A project almost ten years in the making, Wunderlich Lane has reawakened the southern end of Surry Hills where Cleveland Street marks the Surry Hills/Redfern border. And at its heart, The EVE – a stylish nexus of art, culture, and culinary experiences, has been painstakingly crafted to reflect the dynamic energy of its neighbourhoods and Sydney’s global status.
The hotel’s design is the brainchild of SJB’s Adam Haddow, 360 Degrees’ Daniel Baffsky, and Interior Architect George Levissianis (Lottie and Olympus)—a trio of forward-thinking creatives renowned for their ability to craft spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. Rather than looking internationally for design inspiration, the design looks locally, embracing the Australian landscape and celebrating uniquely local experiences. Individual design touches have been scattered throughout the hotel, including custom sculptural lighting by Australian designer, Henry Wilson.
The EVE’s guests enter off the bustling street into an immersive entry with Bar Julius at its side. The entry provides a transitional space, guiding guests from the urban hum that is Surry Hills/Redfern, into a calming lobby anchored by natural stone and bespoke glazed terracotta. The hotel wraps around a central courtyard allowing sight lines through to lush greenery and conjuring a biophilic ‘exhale’ for guests.
Whilst The EVE’s boutique scale provides a more intimate, private stay, the building is crowned by a rooftop bar and 20m pool set within the rooftop garden, giving back to the broader precinct and surrounding neighbourhood. Externally, the hotel echoes the grounding brickwork of the surrounding buildings of Wunderlich Lane. The light rose coloured facade provides a unique identity within the precinct and visible landmark amongst its neighbours.
From light-filled communal areas to the curated art collection and serene gardens, every detail tells a story of place, purpose, and connection at The EVE.
